A community college drop-out turned Ivy League graduate, Conor Abbamonte is an enlisted veteran of the United States Navy, comedian, photographer, and former teacher in the non-profit sector.

Through his enlistment in the United State Navy and subsequent academic pursuits at Columbia University, Conor observed that the individuals who were the most impactful instructors and memorable professors were those who incorporated humor in their teaching practices.

Conor began to emulate these individuals in his own teaching practices while working as a summer teaching fellow with the non-profit The Warrior-Scholar Project. Over five summers in various roles, Conor honed the skill of incorporating comedy while discussing complex and contentious topics in the classroom.

Leveraging his experiences as a teacher and fundraiser in the non-profit sector, Conor founded Laughing-Matter Consulting in 2022.

Between his military service and teaching experience, Conor has nearly a decade of instructional and public speaking experience.

Conor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University. He is an active stand-up comedian in New York City and a current 2L at Seton Hall Law School.
